This function makes these cameras a good solution for corridors, gangways, crawlspaces, etc. where the left-to-right and up-to-down views are limited, but there is a need for a deep field. They are a less costly alternative for this sort of solution than dedicating a high-end camera, while still being flexible enough to give good coverage.

Like the fixed focus type, these cameras are available with wireless options, motion sensing, and can be configured via web page interface or DHCP server. Control of the zoom function is available across the network or through a web page interface on the VPN.
